Medieval Mystery Plays

27th to 29th May 2000, at Minter Field, Streatley.

This is the sixth year that Streatley have performed Mystery Plays. They are based on the York Mystery Cycle, and they are now about half way through them. The four plays this year cover Jesus' arrest and trial, including the last supper, the agony in the garden, the betrayal by Judas, and Christ's trial by Annas and Caiphas.

They are performed from a farm cart in Minter Field, off the High Street (the original York plays were done on wagons), using medieval costume, and with a slightly modernised version of the original text.
