Summer courses 2009

Stuck for ideas this summer? The Watermill’s popular Summer Courses are back! All courses are led by theatre professionals and held in The Watermill’s rehearsal rooms on site.

SHAKESPEARE: The Tempest
27th to 31st July
Ages: 8-16yrs (participants split into different age groups on the first day). Price: £150.
Get to grips with the Bard for this fun week. You'll work towards a performance of The Tempest to an invited audience on the final day. You could be playing a hero, a princess, a villain, a wizard, or even an exotic fairy!

MUSICAL IN A WEEK
3rd to 7th August
Ages: 12-16yrs. Price: £150.
Act, write, direct, sing, play and dance in your own musical that you will perform to an invited audience at the end of the week. No experience is required, only enthusiasm!

PLAY IN A WEEK
17th to 21st August
Ages: 8 - 11yrs (Mornings), 12 - 16yrs (Afternoons). Price: £90.
Back by popular demand - devise, rehearse, and perform a play, all in one week! Experience is not required, but enthusiasm is an absolute must!

THE WATERMILL ACADEMY
10th to 14th August
Ages: 16 - 20yrs. Price: £160 (by application only).
An intense, rewarding week designed for those who are considering a career as an actor. There will be classes in improvisation, singing, stage combat, vocal and movement skills. All classes are led by professionals who are experts in their field. By the end of the week you'll have a top-notch audition speech tucked under your belt and a better idea of what drama school is really like. Entry to the Academy is by application only.
