Kingsclere Players |
Last production
'Allo 'Allo, 2nd to 4th March 2006
Listen very carefully - I shall say this only once. On March 2nd, 3rd and
4th Kingsclere players are performing a stage version of the very popular TV
comedy series 'Allo 'Allo.
Set in war-time France the story revolves around various attempts to possess the valuable painting of 'The Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies' by the master portrait painter Van Klomp. Located in the café of Rene Artois the play features the popular characters such as the sinister Herr Flick of the Gestapo, the gorgeous Helga, the confused Gruber the bumbling Colonel Von Strohm, the amorous Captain Alberto Bertorelli of the Italian Army and the regional commander General von Schmelling.
Confusion is added by Michelle of the resistance and the idiotic Crabtree who are trying to smuggle out the two English airmen. At the centre of the action is Rene and his wife Edith supported by their glamorous waitresses Yvette and Mimi and impeded by the incompetent Leclerc.
The plot unravels to a hilarious conclusion where inflatable dummies combine with 4 Hitlers and 3 Goerings to bring about a confusing climax.
