A Fete Worse than Death, 11th to 13th April 2013
A comedy whodunit by Richard James. As the village of Thornton prepares to host its annual fete, simmering rivalries surface! Tensions on the Home Produce stall, and in the Fete Committee bubble over. Personal animosities and a secretive passion climax in an event which requires all the detective skills of celebrity actor Ray Martin. Come along and laugh with (or at) Malcolm, a pompous, eccentric, marrow-grower and his long-suffering wife Bunny who specialises in making jams. Nigel, an enthusiastic member of the local historical re-enactment group, Trish, the efficient and intense fete organiser and Mike the trendy vicar join them. Miss Parmenter, a wise spinster with a reputation for adventurous pickles and a great admirer of Ray Martin, the actor who plays the TV detective Inspector Brady, rounds off the ensemble. As all the villagers come under suspicion the truth is eventually revealed – can you identify the culprit before the police arrive?
